How we work with you

At Rock Energy Solutions we like to see ourselves as your ‘Trusted Advisor’ – just as the rock in our logo exemplifies stability and longevity we aim to become your long-term partner and work with you over many months and years (not days and weeks) to assist you in achieving your business goals by becoming more energy efficient. This would, of course, include keeping you abreast of all the latest relevant legislation and the potential use of grants and loans to help fund improvement initiatives.

We always start by offering a free, no obligation, assessment of your present situation (for example by looking at your current lighting, heating or power usage) – this would include a free two-week monitoring of your current electricity usage (as detailed in the section Our Services).

This would then be followed by the preparation of a set of recommendations and suggested courses of action which we would review with you. At this point we can tailor our services to suit your needs: this could mean simply recommending a partner company (e.g. a lighting or boiler specialist) for you to work with directly or it could mean that, on your behalf, we take on complete project management responsibility ensuring the agreed courses of action are delivered on time and within budget.

Rock Energy would then work with you on an ongoing basis to track and measure the benefits and savings made. In other words, you are always in control of how much, or how little, support you want us to provide.

Our background

Rock Energy Solutions was founded in 2009 as the result of a need to provide small and medium enterprises in Cumbria and the surrounding counties with a local, independent energy advisor able to specialise in both Green IT and commercial energy assessment.

The company’s founder has over thirty years experience in IT planning and the delivery of cost-saving and service improvement solutions to a number of blue-chip organisations. As well as being a long-standing member of the Institution of Engineering & Technology (MIET) we have recently been awarded professional membership of the BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT (MBCS) and have gained “The Green IT Qualification” from the Information Systems Examinations Board (ISEB, part of the BCS). In the commercial energy assessment arena we have passed the Level 3 Diploma in Non-Domestic Energy Assessment awarded by ABBE (the Awarding Body of the Built Environment). Energy assessment quality control is underwritten by the government-approved accreditation body, Elmhurst Energy.
